If you were from my mother’s generation, Satay Club ought to hold some special and fond memories for you. After the demolishment of the food center which once housed the well-acclaimed Satay Club stalls, the stall owners have since scattered and relocated to various places across the island. At 50 cents a stick, the price may be steep to some, but for better quality and a whole lot of nostalgia, would 50 cents a stick sound less unreasonable?
Flip it. Toss it. Heat it. Fluff it. Serve it. Its outlets operate round the clock and can be patronized at anytime of the day. The vast majority tend to consume it as a late night, or early morning dish. Tear it with your hands and dip it in curry, sugar or condense milk. The Hindus call it Roti Prata.
