Hua Kee, a cze char cum seafood stall housed inside Pasir Panjang’s food center. Due to the ongoing construction, the food center seems to have experienced a drop in patrons. If you are arriving via private transportation, do keep your eyes peeled for the car-park signage as it can be rather inconspicuous and obscure from view.

The third day had arrived and it also marked the end of our 3D2N stay in KL. She wanted Wanton Mee, he wanted Yong Tau Foo, while i wanted Pork Noodles. To satisfy everybody’s craving, heading to Malaysia’s very own “Kopitiam” was our very best option. Where else can you find variety but at a “Kopitiam”?

Malaysia Part III

She ate 40. He ate 60. The other lady had 30. All in all, the mahjong khakis consumed 130 meatballs. All that in one sitting, for lunch. These meatballs must be kick-ass special, i told myself. In fact, our original plan for Hakka Yong Tau Foo was shelved. It was unanimous, we just had to try May king’s Meatballs.

Malaysia Part 1

Fried Flat Noodles

Char Kway Teow, which literally means “fried flat noodles”, is one of the most loved hawker dishes in Singapore. The crisp croutons of fried pork lard is what gives it its characteristic flavor. But due to its high fat content, Char Kway Teow has a reputation of being an unhealthy dish. To cater to the growing pool of health conscious Singaporeans, some hawkers have minimized the addition of oil while others substitute pork lard with Ikan Bilis and leafy greens instead.
