It all started with Elvis. Not the undisputed king of Rock & Roll but a home-made signature from Toast. It bore the resemblance of a giant look-a-like Reese. Peanut butter frosting slathered onto the surface of a chocolate cupcake. With minimal “make-up”, it wasn’t appealing but at least, it was unpretentious.
Limonata and Rose, we encountered on our second visit. As the name suggest, Limonata is a lemon infused cupcake. A bit on the sweet side but still, its tanginess was very appetizing. Rose came in a pretty shade of pink and had a surprise installed for us. Dig your forks in and may you uncover hidden bits of lychee.
And there was Nutella. Also a chocolate cupcake, but slathered with good old Nutella. They did not scrimp on the nutella, but unlike the above two, chocolate cupcakes tend to be drier.

Nutella, $4.20
Cupcakes aside. I’ve just discovered my new found love for Lemon Meringue Tarts. The tangy kick from the lemon curd just keeps me wanting and craving for more.

Lemon Meringue Tart, $3.50
Who would have thought that Toast is a cafe run by the Marmalade Group. Its not easy to come across moist cupcakes and i personally feel that i’ve found them at Toast!
